Pi Lens
Setup guide

Override screenshot shortcuts.

Pi Lens uses Command + Shift + 3 and Command + Shift + 4. macOS owns those keys by default, so setup asks you to turn off Apple's matching screenshot shortcuts first.

  1. 1

Open System Settings from Pi Lens.

In the Pi Lens setup window, click Open System Settings. Pi Lens opens the Keyboard settings page for you.

  2. 2

    Open Keyboard Shortcuts.

Click Keyboard Shortcuts, then select Screenshots from the list on the left.

  3. 3

Turn off Apple's save-to-file screenshot shortcuts.

    Uncheck these two rows:

    • Save picture of screen as a file
    • Save picture of selected area as a file
  4. 4

    Check again in Pi Lens.

Return to Pi Lens and click Check Again. If the shortcuts are available, Pi Lens continues to Screen Recording permission.

You only need to disable Apple's save-to-file shortcuts for Command + Shift + 3 and Command + Shift + 4. Clipboard screenshot shortcuts can stay enabled unless you want to change them too.
